Copied at the Wilkes County Courthouse in Washington, Georgia, September 2006, transcribed by Marshall Styles: Georgia} Wilkes County} Know all men by these presents that I Mary Owens of the County & State aforesaid for and in consideration of the goodwill and affection that I have & bear toward my son-in-law Francis Colley of the same place, I do by these presents freely give & grant to the said Francis Colley his heirs and assigns all that lot or parcel of land situate & lying in the county of Appling in said State in the North District of said County and known as the plan of said district by the number two hundred & sixty six on the Waters of Indian Swamp containing four hundred & seventy acres & granted to the said Mary Owens by grant bearing date the ninth day of December in the year 1825 bounded by lot No. 287, lot No. 267, lot No. 241, and lot number 265, reference to the said grant will more fully appear, Together with all & singular the premises aforesaid with the appurtenances thereof. To have and to hold the said lot of land & premises with every of its rights members & appurtenances thereof and the said Mary Owens for herself, her heirs and assigns, the said land & premises aforesaid will well & truly warrant & forever defend, against her & them and against all persons whatsoever, unto him the said Francis Colley his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Mary Owens has hereunto set her hand & seal the twenty sixth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty seven.
