Willis Written: April 3, 1827 Recorded: April 25, 1838 Deed Book NNN Page 300 27 acres Georgia Wilkes County This Indenture made this third day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Twenty Seven between Richard J Willis Sheriff of the county of Wilkes & State aforesaid of the one Part and Phebe Stinson of the Same County & State of the other part Witnesseth that whereas a fifa from the Justice Court favor of Osborn Stone against Thomas Wootten Administrator of Dudley Stinson deceased was by Amos Chun Constable levied upon a tract of Land as the Property of Dudley Stinson dec’d in the County of Wilkes on the waters of Fishing Creek adjoining Micajah T Anthony, Phebe Stinson and others containing twenty seven acres more or less and did return the same to John Banks Deputy Sheriff of the County of County of (sic) Wilkes who after Lawfully advertising the same did on the first Tuesday in June Eighteen hundred and twenty five Expose the same to Sale & public outcry at the court house in said County within the Lawful Sale hours when Phebe Stinson became the purchaser for the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars she being the highest & best bidder the same was knocked off to her for the sum aforesaid now for & in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars to me in hand Paid by the said Phebe Stinson at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and Sold & doth by these presents grant bargain Sell & convey unto the said Phebe Stinson her heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land as above described containing Twenty seven acres more or less to him and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee Simple and I the Richard J Willis Sheriff as aforesaid unto the said Phebe Stinson her heirs and assigns Shall and will warrant and forever defend the title of said Bargained Land & premises against myself my heirs & assigns the claim of all other person or persons whatsoever as far as the same authorizes by law as Sheriff and no further Intestamony whereof the said Richard J Willis Sheriff hath hereto set his hand and Seal the day and date first within written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Richard J Willis Shff {SS} John Dyson ML Dent JP Recorded 25th April 1838 Additional Comments: Transcriber has digital image of this page.
