Indenture bet Thomas Thurmond & Garrett Oglesby 06 Feb 1840 Wilkes Co, GA WILKES COUNTY, GEORGIA, DEED BOOK OOO, p. 64 This indenture made this 6th day of February, 1840, between Thomas R. Thurmond of the State and County aforesaid of the one part and Garrett Oglesby, Senior, of the same place on the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas R. Thurmond hath this day, for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, bargained, sold and deeded and doth, by these presents, bargain sell and deed unto the said Garrett Oglesby, Senior, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land in the County of Wilkes on the waters of Pistol Creek containing three hundred and eighteen acres, more or less, adjoining lands of William Norman, Bins Fortson, and John Norman, Senior. The said Oglesby to have and to hold the said bargained lands, his heirs and assigns, to his and their own proper use, benefit and behoof forever and the said Thurmond doth forever warrant and defend the same unto the said Oglesby against the claim of himself, (his) heirs, executors or administrators and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever.
