Copied at the Wilkes County Courthouse in Washington, Georgia, September 2006, transcribed by Marshall Styles: This Indenture made the twenty first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three Between William Terrell of Wilkes County and State of Georgia of the one part and John Colley of the said County and State of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five pounds lawful money of this State to him in hand paid by the said John Colley at or before the Sealing and Delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said William Terrell hat granted bargained sold and released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said John Colley once certain part or parcel of land containing thirty two acres and be the same more or less situate lying and being in Wilkes County and Bounded as follows: Beginning at a red oak then east 34.E.28 to a pine thence Nn.60.E.24 chain thence N.70.W.36 chain & fifty links to the beginning other red oak corner, it being a part of a tract of land granted to William Terrell the twelfth day April 1784, Bounded west by said Tract, South East by l. Barret’s land and North East by Autry’s land. Together with all the singular the premises thereunto belonging or in anywise thereunto appertaining, To have and to hold the said land and premises above mentioned unto the said John Colley his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Terrell his heirs and assigns do warrant and defend the same against every person or persons whatsoever.
