Thomas http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00016.html#0003785 August 19, 2008, 7:16 pm Written: July 3, 1859 Recorded: September 15, 1859 Deed Book 56 Pages 179-180 20 acres Georgia Wilkes County This Indenture made this the twenty third day of July in the year of Our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty-nine between Benjamin Thurmond of the one part & John M Booker of the other part both of the County & State aforesaid Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Thurmond [of the one part is struck through] for & in consideration of Six Hundred and ___ Dollars to him in hand paid at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained sold & by these presents grant bargain sell & convey unto the said John M Booker his heirs & assigns all that Tract or parcel of land being in the County of Wilkes on the Waters of Morris Creek adjoining lands of said Benj. Thurmond, John M Booker, R_ Thomas & James McLendon containing one hundred & sixty acres more or less and having the following boundary lines, beginning at a white oak on the Creek & running thence N.47¾W.34.50. chains to a red oak on the road thence along the road to a Post Oak thence S.38¼E.60.75 chains to a rock on the Creek, thence up the Creek to the beginning. To Have and to hold the afore described lot of land together with all the rights members & appurtenances hereto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto him the said JM Booker his heirs and assigns to his and their own and proper use, benefit & behoof forever in fee simple and the said Benjamin Thurmond for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said bargained premises together with all the rights titles & possessions thereof unto the said John M Booker his heirs & assigns will warrant & defend against the claim of all others whatever. In Testimony whereof the said Benj Thurmond has hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & date as above written in presence of his William P.
