Wilkes County, Georgia, Deed Book 16, pages 41-42, Robert Toombs, grantor to 
Camille DuBose Colley, daughter of General Dudley McIver DuBose and Sarah 
Toombs DuBose, Camille being the wife of Henry Owens Colley, 29 September 1883.
Copied at the Wilkes County Courthouse in Washington, Georgia, September 2006, 
transcribed and [annotated] by Marshall Styles:

State of Georgia}
Wilkes County} This Indenture made on the 29th day of September AD 1883 
between Robert Toombs of the County & State aforesaid of the one part, and 
Camille D. Colley grand daughter of the said Robert Toombs of the same place 
of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Toombs for and in 
consideration of the natural love and affection which he has and bears to his 
said grand daughter hath given, granted and conveyed, and by these present 
give, grand and convey to the said Camille D. Colley for and during her 
natural life, and at her death to her children, should any be born unto her, 
but in the event that she should die without children, then to her brothers 
and sisters share and share alike, all that tract or parcel of land situated 
lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and in the town of 
Washington on the Seminary Street and lying opposite the Seminary lot bounded 
on the north by lands of Anderson on the west by lands of M.M. Sims, on the 
South by a lane thirty feet wide with free access to and used of said lane, 
and on the east by Public Street, and containing four and a half acres more or 
less, a plat of said lot of land made by O.S. Barnett accompanying this deed 
and is hereto attached, said tract being the same deeded to said Robert Toombs 
September 25th 1883 by T.C. Binns, Mary M. Sims, Bessie O Johnson, M.G. Robert 
Jr. & S.O. Robert.
In witness whereof the said Robert Toombs has hereunto set his hand and seal 
the day and year first above written.
