Georgia Book XX, p. 139 This indenture made this twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and six between Johnson Welborn of the County of Wilkes and State aforesaid of the one part and Adam Loving and Lydia his wife of the state and county aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Adam Loving and Lidia his wife hath for and of the said of sum of six hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said John Wellborn before the sealing and delivery of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold and for themselves and their heirs doth grant, bargain, sell and confim unto the said Johnson Wellborn, his heirs and assigns forever all the tract or parcel of land herein after described. To wit, situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on a branch of Clark Creek commonly called Gourdvine Branch joining between the said Johnson Willborn and Thomas Lakey to wit Lying on both sides of the said branch beginning at a Dogwood Corner at or near the said branch running there N. West Twenty-Six chs.and three quarters to W. Stake on said Willborn line thence north four degrees, west forty ch's to a stake on said Wellborn's and Henry Rorei and Thence east twenty-eight chaines and one quarter to a Red oak corner Thence South forty chains to the beginning Dogwood Corner containing one hundred and ten acres of land be the same more or less. Being a part of two tracts of land one granted to the said Thomas Lackey and the other to Conrad Cornellion recourse being had to said Grantees Will more fully appear and so forth. And we the said Adam Loving and Lydia his wife doth for themselves their Heirs and so forth covenant and agree by him the said Johnson Wellborn his heirs and assigns to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and premises-together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging on any wise appertaining whatsoever and we the said Adam Loving and Lidia his wife doth warrant and forever defend the aforesaid tract of land and premises together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging forever whatever unto the same Johns Wellborn and his heirs and assigns forever for him that said Johnson Wellborn his Heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold. Georgia, Wilkes County Be it remembered that on the twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six before me James Render a magistrate for the county aforesaid Personally came and appeared the within named Adam Loving and Lidia Loving, his wife and acknowledged the within written indenture of bargain and sale to be their act and deed and or such to be recorded being first thereunto seperately and apart examined and the said Lidia Loving did voluntarily renounce give up and forever aput Plain to my dower or thereby in and the within mentioned premises.
