Witnesseth that the said John Williams & Lucey his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of One hundred and Twenty Pounds Sterling Money to them in hand Paid by the said William Huckaby the receipt whereof the same John Williams & Lucey his wife doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof doth acquitt and forever ????? & Discharge the said William Huckaby his heirs Executors & administrators Hath granted Bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed unto the said William Huckaby his heirs and assigns forever All that tract or parcel of Land Containing four hundred Acres Situate lying and being in the County of Wilkes on the waters of uptons Creek Bounded as follows Begining at a Post Oak & northwardly to a red Oak thence No.eastwardly to a pine thence Southeastwardly to a Post Oak thence Southwestwardly to a hickory & thence to the Begining With all and Singular the Buildings Improvements ????? ways woods and water Courses Rights Liberties hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever hereunto belonging or in Anywise Appurtaining and the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders rents Issues & Profits thereof and all Right Interests Claims and demands whatsoever of them the said John Williams & Lucey his wife their heirs Executors Admrs and assigns of in to the hereby granted premises and every part & parcel thereof to have and to hold the said Bargained premises of four hundred Acres of Land with the appurtenances hereby Granted or Mentioned to be granted with their appurtenances and every part & parcel thereof to hold to the Only use of them the said William Huckaby his [heirs] and assigns forever and that free from all incumbrances Whatsoever and the said John Williams & Lucey his wife for themselves their heirs Executors Adm’rs Doth Covenant promise and grant to and with the sd. William Huckaby his heirs & assigns by these Presents that they the said John Williams & Lucey his wife their heirs, the hereby granted premises and every part thereof with the Appurtenances thereunto Belonging unto the said William Huckaby his heirs and Assigns against the sd. John Williams & Lucey his wife and their heirs & against all other Persons Lawfully Claiming or to Claim and shall and will warrant and Defend forever by these Presents and further that the said John Williams & Lucey his wife their heirs and all Other Persons Whatsoever Lawfully Claiming or that shall or will at any time Claiming any Right Title or Demand to the hereby Granted Premises or any Part or parcel thereof by from or under or any of them upon the Reasonable request Cost & Charges William Huckaby or his heirs Shall and Will sign seal & Deliver any such further and other Instrument or Instruments of writting for the better assuring and sure making of the hereby granted Premises with their appurtenances thereunto Belonging unto the said William his heirs and assigns as by him or them shall be Lawfully & reasonably required. In Witness whereof the Parties hereunto Interchangeably Set their hands and affixed their seals the day & year above Written. Lucey (her mark) Williams John Williams Memmorandum that on the second day of February 1785 and in the tenth year of American Independence before me Absalom Bedell Esq’r, appeared Charles Ivey and Made Oath that he saw John Williams & Lucey his wife Sign Seal & Deliver the within Deed & that he sd.
