this Indenture made this 25th day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty nine 
between Jas. Worthan of the State and County aforesaid of the one part and 
Susan Stinson of the same place of the other part Witnesseth, that the said 
Jas. Worthen for and in consideration of the Sum of Seven hundred dollars to 
him in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the 
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold & conveyed 
and by these presents doth bargain grant sell & convey unto the said Susan 
Stinson all that Tract or parcel of Land lying, Situate and being in the 
county of Wilkes on the Waters of Clarkes Creek adjoining Lands of E. 
Callaway, John Norman, Mrs. Bins & C Binns containing by survey two hundred 
acres more or less, being composed of one Tract Bought by said Jas. Worthen of 
D. Martin containing one hundred acres of one other Tract Bought of Mrs. Nancy 
Johnson containing one hundred acres, the right & Title to said tract or 
parcel of Land together with all and singular the rights members and 
appertenances thereunto belonging will forever warrant & defend unto the said 
Susan Stinson her heirs or assigns against the claim of himself his heirs or 
assigns and against the claim of all and every person whatsoever, in Testimony 
of which he here subscribes his hand & Seal the day & date above written
