AUGUSTA, April 23.
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
Augusta, April 16. 1791
The rank and arrangement of the militia of Colonel Freeman’s battalion, in 
Wilkes county, are established this day in the following order:

Holeman Freeman, Esq. Colonel, September 7, 1786.
George Barber, Esq. Lieutenant-Colonel, do.
William Bailey, Esq. Major, Feb. 27, 1788.

First Company
Charles Lane, Esq. Captain, October 1, 1785.
Paul Patrick, Gent. 1st Lieut. April 10, 1789,
James Armstrong, Gent. 2nd Lieutenant.

Second Company
William Horley, Esq. Captain, October 5, 1785.
Matthew Martin, Gent. 1st Lieutenant, do.
Thomas Terrill, Gent. 2nd Lieutenant, do.

Third Company
John Freeman, Esq. Captain, Sept. 7, 1786.
Christopher Orr, Gent. 1st Lieutenant.
