Sanderson of Montgomery was one of the soldiers who guarded the confederate treasury wagons which were abandoned at Washington, Ga., on May 7, 1865. On the night of that day each of the soldiers received $25. in silver. Mr. Sanderson kept his money and showed it the other day in the office of the Montgomery Advertiser. He says ex-President Davis ordered the greater part of the money to be paid to the soldiers and he does not believe Mr. Davis kept a single dollar for the necessities of himself and family.
