Washington-Wilkes (GA) News-Reporter, 5 November 1981:
Miss Alliene R. Barksdale
Funeral services for Miss Alliene Rembert Barksdale, 87, were held Wednesday, 
November 4, at 11 a.m. in the Washington First United Methodist Church with 
Rev. Jerry Newton officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery. She died 
Tuesday, November 3, in Wills Memorial Hospital. A native an lifelong resident 
of Wilkes County, Miss Barksdale was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson 
Barksdale and the late Frances Owens Colley Barksdale. She was a member of 
Washington First United Methodist Church and of the Washington Woman's Club.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Barksdale Johnson, Miss 
Willomette Colley Barksdale and Mrs. Frank W. Thomas, all of Washington; four 
nieces; one nephew and a large number of great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers 
included Frank W. Thomas, Jr., Thomas Boyd III, Dr A.D. Duggan, Frank W. 
Thomas III, Lamont Lannae and Jimmy Bowman. Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge 
of the arrangements.
