All the pastors of Newnan will participate and interment will be held at Oakhill cemetery. Colonel Burdette was one of the most prominent citizens in west Georgia. He had owned and operated a cotton warehouse here for the past 50 years. He was a member of the late Governor Joseph Terrell's staff and was mayor of Newnan for several terms. Col. Burdete (sic), who was 83 years old, was born in Wilkes county, but had resided here for the past 60 years. He is survived by one sister and several nieces and nephews.
