Augusta Chronicle, February 22, 1936:  "JESSE WALTON DIES AT HOME IN
WILKES.  Washington, GA - Feb. 21, Funeral services for Jesse Walton
were conducted by Rev. J. R. Lupe, at Pope Chapel Methodist church
Friday.  Interment was in the churchyard cemetery.  Death came to this
well known farmer in north Wilkes Wednesday night, following a six-day
illness due to a paralytic stroke in his 69th year.




"Besides his wife, Mrs. Bessie E. Walton, four children survive:  Mrs.
Julia W. Cox, Salisburg, NC: Mrs. C. W. Norman, Georgetown; Marion T.
Walton, Charlotte, NC and H. J. Walton,  Tignall."
