Will of Thomas Burdett, Wilkes Co. GA From: Meredith Clapper Georgia Wilkes County Personally appeared before me John W. Cooper a magistrate for this county John B Nelson & Charles H Nelson who being duly sworn deposith and saith that Thomas Burdett late of said county died in the time of his last illness on Monday the sixth day of this instant did voluntarily in their presance make a noncupative will in the words following--that is to say it was his wish that all his just debts should be first paid. 2nd that it was his wish and desire that his wife Polly Burdett should have and enjoy the whole of his estate and at her death she should dispose of the same as she pleased. Sworn to and subscribed before me Jn B Nelson this 22nd day of July 1818 Chas H Nelson Jn W Cooper JP Georgia Wilkes County John B Nelson Charles H Nelson & Sarah Taylor came into open court and being duly sworn saith that Thomas Burdett did make publish and declair the noncupative will herein under did in writing to be his last will & testament therein stated and that they were called on to bear witness to the same that at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing memory that the same was done in his last illness in Wilkes county that he was taken out of his senses the next day and died on Saturday thereafter.
