Transcribed by James Henry. ****************************************************** In the name of God Amen I Demsey Hinton of the county of Wilkes being in perfect mind and memory thanks be to almighty God and cauling to minde the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die and with that small estate it hath been pleased God to bless me with: I do dispose of in the following maner (to wit) imprimiss I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body I recommend to the dust to be decently buried according to the direction of my executors, [ ? ] I lend unto my loving wife Mary Hinton all my estate real and personal for the said Mary to rase my children on and when my daughter Faithy arives to the age of sixteen years my will and desire is that my estate be apprased by two honest men and a forth part delivered unto the said Faithy [I mean] unto the [ ? ] [ ? ] and so as my children arives to that age to receive there part in proportion my son John next, my son James next and the child my wife now goes with last. My land wee now live on on Chicksaw Creek I leave to my wife during her natural life and after her death to be divided between my two children John and James. Two hundred acres of the east side the creek to James the other two hundred of the east side to son John my three hundred acres of land surveyed on Broad River I desire may be equally divided between my daughter Faithy and the child my wife now goes with if it pleases God it lives if not my desire is that there should be equally divided amongst the [number] of children living at the age above mentioned and likewise I [wish] that if either of my children depart this life before they come to the [ age ] of sixteen that theire estates be equally divided to the ones living. My will and desire is that my wife may live on my plantation on Chicksaw Creek during her natural life and have the negro girl [ Mareen] the same time without interruption nevertheless the children [Mareen ] shall bring if any and one bead [bed] and [furnishing] to be divided amongst my children as before mentioned.
