Will of Jeremiah Reeves 21 Jul 1806 Wilkes County, GA In the name of God amen I Jeremiah Reves of the County of Wilkes state of Georgia being very sick and weak in body but of perfect Mind and Memory Calling unto mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament That is to say first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that Gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent Christain burial And as touching such worldly Estate when with it hath plesed God to help me in this life I give divise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form First I will and ordain that two head of horse creatures and Seven head of Cattle be sold and Equally Be divided Between my six Daughters Also I give and bequeath to Jane my well beloved Wife All and singular My household Goods and Chattels with the remaining part of my stock of Cattle and one horse Creature With all and Every of my stock of hogs by her freely to (indecipherable) during her life. Also I will and bequeath to my Daughter Rhoda two Cows and Calves ___ 153 (Next Page) 157 and one feather bed and furniture to be Imparted to her at the death of my wife Item Also I will and ordain that the remainder of the above Named household Goods and Chattels, Stock etc ( I think this is what that is suppose to mean) that shall be and remain till the Death of my Wife then be Equally Divided between Each and Every of my sons and Daughters Item also I give and bequeath to my two sons James and John all the tract or parcel of land tenements of premices where on I now leave to be Equally Divided between in manner and form folowing that is to say runing from an old pine corner on the North boundary line Near a southwest Course to a Chestnut tree in the plantation from thence through the Plantation to a (I made this out to be stiling place but the will I have just received had- indecipherable) stiling place on the south side of the Plantation keeping the same Direction to a path leading from the plantation to the bever Dam Creek thence Down the said path to Milner line My son James to have all and Singular the Northwest Part And my son John all and Singular the south East part reserving at the same time full and free possession of the same and of the houses Lots and spring unto my well Beloved wife during her Life time I do here by utterly disallow revoke and( I believe this word to be disannul but the will I just received reads disavow) all and Ever other former wills and testments by me in any wise here to fore named and (? lastly) I do appoint My two sons Malachi & Jeremiah to be the Sole Executors if this my last will and Testament Ralefying and Confirming the same in witness where I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentyfirst Day of July In the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Six signed seald and Declare by the said Jeremiah Reeves as his last will and Testament in the presents of us who in presents of Each other have subscribed our Names Ichabod Reeves } Jeremiah Reves (Seal) James Reves } Georgia } Personally appeared in open Court Ichebod Reves one of Wilkes County } the subscribing witness's to the foregoing Will and being Duly sworn Saith that he saw the within named Jeremiah Reeves Sign Seal Publish and Declare the foregoing instrument of writing to be his last will and Testament and at the time of is so doing he was of sound and Disposing mind and Memory and that James Reves subscribed as a Concerning Evidence to the same.
