GA Submitted by Barbara Walker Winge John Townsend In the name of God Amen, I John Townsend of Wilkes County Being weak in Body but in perfect Mind and Memory, Make this my last Will and Testament. My Estate and effects I Bequeath and Dispose of in the manner and form following- Item I lend unto my loving Wife Elizabeth Townsend during of her life my Negroes Man Will, and my Negro Woman Jude, also my three Horses, and her choice of the third part of my Cows, and my Beds, and all of my Kitchen and Household furniture, and working Tools and at her Death my Will is that what I have left her should be Divided equally among all my children. Also I give unto my loving Wife Elizabeth Townsend half my Crop of Corn and Tobacco, and the choice of the third part of my crops, Also my Will is that my Said Wife should have the place I now live on During her life Item I give unto my son James Townsend my Land That I live on, it being in the fork of Little River containing two hundred and six Acres, Also my Rifle gun, two saddles forever- Item I give unto my son John Townsend my Tract of Land lying on the north side of the North Fork of Little River Containing three hundred Acres, and my smooth bor gun for ever- Item, My Will and desire is that the rest of my Estate not already mentioned be Equally Divided among all my Children O hereby Constitute and appoint my two Sons and ___ Joseph Catching and Lemuel Adkerson Executors of This my last Will and Testament given from under my hand and seal this twenty-first Day of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety - Singed Sealed and declared to be my last Will and Testament in the presence of us- John Townsend (Seal) Philemon Bird Job Bird Proved approved and Exhibited Sept the 20th 1795 James Luckilk R.T.
