GA 1837-1877 p156 Written: June 25 1835 Recorded: July 1 1835 I will send a copy of the handwritten will by email to Ken. Additional Comments: This will was written 12 years before John died. It was recorded after his death in 1847. There were a number of children born to John and his wife Mary Willimson after this will was written. John purchased his first land in Wilkes Co. in 1813. I will send that paper in another note. My great grandfather, Matthew DeKalb Cofer was one of those born later in 1844. Mary never remarried but raised a large family after John's death. One of the sons died in the Civil War. At least three other sons served in the war. Thomas, one of the sons was her attorney to handle affairs concerning her son who died during the war. One daughter never married, but lived with Mary until she died. William Cofer was named executor of the will in another document filed in 1847. It is listed in "Mixed Records 1839-1868" p 17.
