Witnesseth that the said Richard Barefield for and in consideration of the sum of nineteen hundred and twenty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing signing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained, sold and conveyed, and do by these presents grant bargain sell & convey unto the said Josiah Whitehurst his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel containing four hundred and five acres the right a way of the Central Rail Road excepted, lying and being in the sixth district of Baldwin now Wilkinson County and the State aforesaid, known and distinguished in the plan of said District by No. 143 & Lot No. 118, each Lot containing two hundred two and a half acres. To have and to hold, the aforesaid bargained land & premises with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereto belonging to their own proper use, benefit and behoof of him the said Josiah Whitehurst his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple. And the said Richard Barefield, agent for the heirs of the said William Barefield, deceased, do warrant and forever defend the aforesaid bargained land and premises from the claim of myself my heirs and assigns as agent and all other person or persons whatever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed my seal the day and year above written. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Test. John Barefield Thomas Gibson Daniel Brewer J. P.
