D. 1850 between Richard Barfield agent for the heirs at Law of William Barfield late of said County deceased of the said County of Bibb Said State of the first [part] and Racheal Barfield widow of William Barfield deceased of the second part: Witnesseth that the said Richard Barfield agent as aforesaid for and in consideration of her relinquishing her third or childs portion of the real estate of William Barfield late deceased and electing as in case of Administration upon intestate Estate her Dower or portion of Land denominated Dower in law, In case where deceased without will and testatement the said Richard Barfield as agent aforesaid doth grant give & yeald [sic] and does by these presents grant give and yeald unto said Rachel Barfield all the heirs and persons privy[?] and interested in Said Dowery lot consenting thereto and approving and in consideration that Rachel Barfield has entered into an agreement that she will not in any manner commit any waste in said Dowery lot to the injustice of the reversioner or remainderman or reversioners or remaindermen or do any act inconsistent with the permanent value of said lot with which she is hereby endowed for and during her natural life And she is privileged hereby to cut all timber necessary to keep in good repair the houses and fences on said dowry lot. And all timber necessary to build such houses of any kind whatsoever she may desire to erect for any purpose whatsoever and she is not hereby restrained from doing any act which may deteriorate the real value of the said dowery lot when it shall become absolutely necessary to her comfort continuance and wellfare and in case of Providential visitation she is hereby empowered to sell timber or any thing termed in law fixtures to dwelling or out houses or any thing which circumstances may dictate that can be used for the specific purposes of relief in extreme cases. Have granted given yealded unto the said Racheal Barfield widow as aforesaid for and during her natural life all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in said county Known and distinguished by number 117 in the Sixth district originally Baldwin county now Wilkinson. To have and to hold during her natural life and she is hereby restrained from selling said lot or any part thereof only for her lifetime subject to the same restrictions hereinbefore named. And the said Richard Barfield for himself his heirs and for the rest of the heirs at law of William Barfield late deceased his and the heirs executors and administrators the said given premises unto the said Racheal Barfield will warrant guarantee and defend the rights and titles thereof during her natural life against themselves and against reversioner and remainderman and against all and every other person & persons whatsoever.
