Written: March 5, 1808 Recorded: March 5, 1808 State of Georgia. By his Excellency, Jared Irwin, Governor and commander in chief of the army and navy of this state, and of the militia thereof. To all whom these presents shall come, greeting. Know ye, that in pursuance of an Act of the General Assembly of this tate, passed on the twenty-sixth day of June, eighteen hundred and six, for making distribution of the land in the counties of Wilkinson and Baldwin, I have given and granted, and by these presents in the name and behalf of this state, do give and grant unto ELISHA PULLEN of Sheet's district, Wilkes Co., his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or lot of land containing two hundred two and an half acres, situate, lying, and being in the twenty fifth district by the Number one hundred & seventeen having such shape, form and marks as appear by a plat of the same hereunto annexed, To have and to hold the said tract or lot of land, together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof, whatsoever unto the said, ELISHA PULLEN his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use, benefit and behoof, for ever, in fee simple. Given under my hand and Great Seal of the said state, this fifth day of March in the year eighteen hundred and eight and of the Independence of America the thirty second. Registered the 5th day of March 1808 Additional Comments: Elisha Pullen was a fortunate draw in the 1807 Land Lottery. He resided in Wilkes Co and was nearing his 27th birthday when he claimed his grant in 1808. He was married to Anna Richardson of Wilkes Co. and had one son named Joseph at the time of the claim. He later migrated to Maury Co., TN, with his young family.
