Laurens County Georgia Deed Book L, pages 178, 179 Additional Comments: The above Lewis Bell was the father-in-law of Lewis Stuckey. They were both from North Carolina. Lewis Stuckey married Mary Bell. This is the same Mary Stuckey who is listed in legal records of Laurens County. Lewis Stuckey purchased this land which was in the former Wilkinson County area, now Laurens County. The relationship between Starling Stuckey of Wilkinson County and the Lewis Stuckey has not been documented. Lewis and Mary (Bell) Stuckey had two minor children when he passed away between January 21, 1818 and January 1919. Their names were William Stuckey and Thomas Stuckey. Mary Stuckey moved to Randolph County, Georgia. On January 7, 1832, Mary sold this same property to William Roach in Laurens County for $25--this deed will be listed separately as it is worded differently.
