JONES Nov. 21, 1814, John L. Jones enlisted as Private in Capt. Lewis Lee's Company of Infantry in the 3rd Regiment of the Georgia Militia under the command of Col. Ezekiel Wimberly. On Nov. 21, John L. had travelled 30 miles from his residence to the rendezvous at Camp Hope. By Dec. 8, 1814 John L. was listed "absent sick" on the Muster Roll (Capt. Isaac Hall's Company) at Camp Darien. John L. Jones was listed as "absent sick" on an undated Muster Pay Roll record and his pay was $8 per month and received rations pay of 18-cents. His service of 3 months, 20 days was rewarded with $29.52 upon discharge March 8, 1815.
