JAMES ELIJAH DENNARD

GORDON-- James Elijah "Jimmy" Dennard, 62, of Route 1 died Saturday in a local 
hospital.  Born in Wilkinson County, he was the owner/operator of Dennard 
Electrial Service and was an Army Veteran.  He was a retired commander of the 
6th District VFW and of Local Post No. 7509.  He was a member of Clear Creek 
Baptist Church.

Survivors: wife, Kathleen Akridge Dennard of Gordon; son, James. E. Dennard, 
Jr. of Macon; brothers and sisters, Gwendolyn Cochran of McIntyre, Elizabeth 
Proctor of Gordon, Thomas K. Dennard of Gordon and Hillard Dennard of Americus.

Services: 4 p.m. today in Westview Cemetery, Milledgeville.  The Rev. Wesley 
Long will officiate.  Williams Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.

(Note: James Elijah Dennard was the son of Henry Elijah Dennard and Minnie 
Beele Aycock Dennard.  He was born November 4, 1928.  He married Kathleen 
Akridge and died on May 25, 1991.)
