Gordon - Emmerson Dennard, 67, died Sunday at his residence. Services will be held at 4 p.m. today in Gordon First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ricky Varnell will officiate. Mr. Dennard, a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County, was a retired cashier for the Gordon Bank. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he was an honorary member of the administrative board. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Smith Dennard of Gordon; a daughter, Alice Burns of Gordon; a son, J.E. Dennard of Macon; three sisters, Floy Baggarly, Dorothy McCook, and Constance Weaver, all of Gordon; five brothers, Attacus Dennard of Tennessee, and Glenn Dennard, Royce Dennard, Doyle Dennard, and Larry Dennard, all of Gordon; a stepsister, Gloria Tucker of Macon; a stepbrother, Kenneth O'Kelly of Tennessee; and four grandchildren.
