Major Izzie Lee Dominy died Saturday in a Fort Gordon Hospital. Services will be held at 2pm Tuesday in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkinson County with full military honors. The Revs. Ted Page and George Durham will officiate. Mr. Dominy, a native of Wilkinson County, was retired from the US Army after 25 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Betty Fenton Dominy of Augusta; two sons, Izzie L. Dominy Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah and Peter O. Dominy of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his mother, Lucy Howell Dominy of Toomsboro; three brothers, Hardy Sam Dominy of Columbia,SC, C. Edward Dominy of Toomsboro,and Morgan Dominy of Irwinton; four sisters, Gladys D. Ward of Macon, Lucy Etta D. Mills, Mae Ivey D. Thompson, and Betty Rose D. Criswell, all of Toomsboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9pm today. Additional Comments: Izzie Lee was born 10 Dec 1916 to Hardy Ivey Dominy and Lucy Edda Howell Dominy.
