A physician was summonned immediately, but soon found that medical aid was useless, and almost before his mother realized he was seriously sick, he passed away about sundown. He had been in ill health for spme time but his death was not expeceted so soon and was indeed a sad shock to the entire community. He was a farmer, fiftv-one years of age and his life was one of usefulness; always ready to lend a helping hand and was such a help and Comlfort to his widowed sister and children he will be sorely missed by them most of all. His body was intered in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in the pres-sence of many sorrowing friends Rev Mallette conducted the funeral service Mrs. Mary J. Horn, aged seventy-two realizing her great loss, being left alone in her declining years found this grief more than her age-enfeebled body could stand an on the sunday following she was taken very sick and what she suffered for nearly two weeks was more than toungue can tell. All that loving relatives and friends could do was ministered to her but nothing seemed to give relief until God sent his ministering angel just before midnight Feb 26 who said "Thy suffering here on earth is done come up higher, there's a place prepared for you where there is neither suffering or sorrow". Those around her bedside when the end came felt like saying "Oh Lord, Thy will be done" In the midst of sorrow this was a time for rejoicing for surely her body was at rest. She and her son had lived alone at the old homestead, and now the old home is completely broken up. She is survived by one daughter and one son, Mrs Josie Wright and David horn and several grandchildren. Her remains were laid to rest beside her son Funeral services conducted Friday owing to extremely cold bad weather but few attended. This unexpected death is a blow to the members of the family and deplored by many friends May the wounds caused by their deaths by He who notes the sparrows fall. I am far from being competent to do this subject justice, but as the request was made by her a few days prior to her deathI feel duty bound and have endevored to do the best I could-A Relative ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
