His wife, Mozelle Fowler Rickerson is also buried there as well as his parents, J. Frank Rickerson and Vera Jane McConnell Rickerson. From The Macon Telegrpah 11-18-1946 Page 12A Danville Man Killed in Crash of Cars,Truck Driver of Auto Seriously Hurt One man was killed instantly and another is in Macon hospital in critical condition as result of a three-way auto-truck collision around 4AM yesterday about a mile north of Dry Branch on US Highway 80. W. D. Rickerson, 36, of Danville met almost instant death, sheriff's officers investigators said, and M. H. Stephens Jr., driver of the auto in which Rickerson was a passenger, was admitted to the hospital suffering from a skull fracture and lacerations of the chin, face, and forehead. Occupants of the other auto and truck involved did not suffer serious injury, Deputies C. H. Sauls and J. H. Howard reported. The truck was driven by J. A. Bloodworth, 27, of Gray, the officers said. With him were his wife and Mrs. James W. Simmons, Macon, Route 4. Driver of the third vehicle was listed a Alvin Rozier, 28, of Jeffersonville, with whom another man was riding. The name of the Rozier's passenger was not learned. Investigators said all three vehicles were traveling south on Highway 80 when the accident occurred. They reported the car driven by by Stephens rammed into the truck, and was subsequently hit by the car driven by Rozier. Stephen's car was reported almost completely demolished, as was the front of the Rozier car. Sauls and Howard said the two cars were traveling together to Jeffersonville and Rickerson had been riding with Rozier until shortly before the accident occurred. Funeral services for Rickerson have been set for 4PM today in the Danville Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. E. Townsend, assisted by the Rev. Jack Ragan, officiating. Interment will be in the Danville Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Moselle Fowler Rickerson and two sons, W. D. Jr. and James; his parents, Mr. amd Mrs. Frank Rickerson of Macon; two sisters, also of Macon and three brothers, Aaron, Frank, and David Rickerson, all of Danville. From The Macon Telegraph 11-19-1946 Page 8A Buried In Danville Funeral services for Willie Doyle Rickerson, auto crash victim, were held Monday in the Danville Baptist Church. The Rev. J. E. Townsend and the Rev. Jack Ragan officiated and burial was in the Danville Cemetery. Rickerson was killed in an auto accident on the Jeffersonville highway early Sunday morning. He was a resident of Danville and in the trucking business. Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
