She was 71. Services will be held at 3pm today in Williams Chapel of Memories in Gordon. Burial will be in Asbury Methodist Church. The Revs. Lee Wilson and Byron Scott will officiate. Mrs. Stokes was a native of Twiggs County but lived in Wilkinson County most of her adult life. She was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Gordon and the Woodmen of the World Ladies Woodcraft Auxilary. Survivors include her husband, John Willis Stokes of Gordon; a daughter, Jackie Scarborough of Gordon; a son, Billy Stokes of Macon; a sister, Sallie Nobles of Gordon; and four grandchildren. Williams Memorial Chapel of Gordon has charge of arrangements.
