Will of James Brannan 21 Nov 1851 Wilkinson County, GA In the name of God amen I James Branan, Sr. of the State of Georgia and of Wilkinson County do make and declair this to be my last will and testament. In the manner and form following. First I do give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Branan Two hundred dollars in money to be handed to her by myself Two choice bedsteads and beds & furniture with them as much as she wishes to put on them one chist and a sideboard and implements and furniture belonging to the sideboard. Twenty bushels of corn five bushels of wheat Three hundred pounds of pork fifty pounds of coffee fifty pounds of sugar one ____ shelf also one negroe girl by the name of Luiza to have and to hold during the term of her natural life without impeachment of waste and then what is remaining to be sold and divided amongst my children the Lawfull heirs of my body each one to shear and shear alike also I fourthly make and devise that the rest of my worldly estate consisting of lands goods & chattels all be sold with the exception of grave-yard I do except and retain one acre of ground for the use of the yard and equally divided amongst my children the lawfull aires of my body My above named wife to have an equal share with them each one to have shear and shear alike I further divise make and ordain two of my sons to wit Alfred Brannan and Harris Brannan my lawfull adminstrator to Execute and carry out this my last will and testament as good as I would do provided I were in life In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal November the 21st 1851 Daniel McCook James Brannan Jessee L.
