Will of Charles Johnson July 1862 Wilkinson County, GA State of Virginia at a Camp, July 1862 Will of Charles T. Johnson Know all men by these presents, that I Charles T. Johnson, being of sound mind and desirous of making a suitable arrangement for the future maintenance and support, comfort and happiness as well as an equal distribution of all the effects that I may be possessed with at the time of my death, both real and personal, in the following manner, to wit ITEM 1. I desire that my body be buried in a decent and Christian-like manner, according to my circumstances in life; my soul return to God who gave it, whose religion I humbly trust and enjoyed for many years. ITEM 2. I desire that all my debts be paid as speedily as possible as I am not willing for my creditors to be unnecessarily detained from their rights. ITEM 3 I desire that all my personal property not hereinafter disposed of be sold and applied without delay for payment to my creditors. ITEM 4. I devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Delphia E. and my beloved children, to wit: my son Joel M., my daughters, Sarah Ann, Ella K., also son Seymour B. Johnson, the following property to wit: 150 acres of land known as the place where I now live, my boys Moses and Tom and girl Mary; one cow and calf and all the hogs, household and kitchen furniture that I may be possess of with one year's support. ITEM 5. I desire that my Executor which may be hereinafter nominated and appointed, keep said property enumerated in Item 4 together for the maintenance, support and benefit of my wife, Delphia E. and my children, Joseph M., Sarah Ann., Ella K., and Seymour B. Johnson, until the youngest son, Seymour B. will be to the age of 16, at which time thru my Executor, equally divided between my wife, Delphia e. and children, Joseph M., Sarah Ann, Ella K., and Seymour B. Johnson. ITEM 6. I nominate and appoint my trusty and worthy brother, Isaac F. Johnson, my Executor, to do and perform for me the duties assigned to him to this my last will and testament.
