And first I am wit my soul to the God who gave it, and my body I desire to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to my condition in life. Item 1st I will and desire all my just debts to be paid by my Executor here in after names. Item 2nd, I will and desire that my property both real and personal of all kinds be equally divided between all my children and their representatives, that is to say I give my son Thomas Lewis, one share,to my son James R Lewis, one share, to my son Ephraim Lewis, one share, to my son John Lewis, one share, to my daughter Elizabeth Smith, one share, to my grandchildren Mary Elizabeth and J Benjamin W Lewis, children of my son Benjamin Lewis, one share together except the amount of four hundred dollars that amount being advanced to their father Benjamin Lewis in his life time, now dec'd. Item 3rd, I herby appoint and constitute my beloved son James R Lewis, trustee to my grandchildren aforesaid to ------- and hold in trust for them free from liabilities of any other per--- or the property given them Item 4th I herby appoint and constitute my beloved son James R Lewis, my true and lawful Executor to this my last will and testament. In witnes where of, I the said Elizabeth Lewis have to this my will set my hand and seal, this fourtenth day of September, 1857 Signed, sealed, published and declared by Elizabeth Lewis as her last Will and Testament in the presence of who at her request, in presence a --------- others have subscribed on, names as witness there to D Solomon Signed, Elizabeth Lewis J R Bragg E J Massey Injunction 2, the name of Benjamin J W Lewis, changed to J Benjamin W Lewis, before signing the will. Item 3 this clause is added before signing the will, that the property bequeath to my grandchildren Mary Elizabeth and J B W Lewis, be given them when they have become of lawful age, if they die without issue their share must revert to my children and their heirs. Witness D Solomon J R Bragg E J Massey Additional Comments: James R Lewis, was Admr of his mother Elizabeth Lewis' Estate, James R Lewis died before his mother.
