Williams, son of Jackson Jonathan Williams and Mary Ford Williams, was born in Worth County on August 20, 1878. He was a school teacher and also a fine musician. He was teaching in Woodbine, Georgia, when in January 1908, he married Winifred Elizabeth Mangham, who was teaching school in St. Mary's, Camden County, Georgia. To this couple were born four children, Mary Winifred, James Jackson, Edwards J., and Samuel Mangham. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a Woodman of the World and at the time of his death, he was Mayor of St. Mary's, Georgia, and Game and Fish Warden of Camden, County.
