This indenture, made and entered into this the 4th day of January, in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Seventeen, between Barney Bass and Tempia J. Bass, of the county of Worth and State of Georgia, of the one part, and J.S. Hill (s/o Archibald & Catherine Barfield Hill of Taylor Co.), of the county of Worth and State of Georgia, of the other part, WITNESSETH: That the parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, sold and conveyed unto the said J.S. Hill, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the county of Worth, as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of lands of Tempia J. Bass and running south five ??. Thence north five hundred and sixteen yards, thence west two hundred seven and 2/3 yards hundred and sixteen yards, thence east two hundred and seven and 2/3 yards to starting point. (NOTE: This legal description makes no sense. There is evidence from the original, that the typist probably got the lines of the description in the wrong order. This same parcel is sold 2 days later to Arthur Hill of Schley Co., and that legal appears to be accurate.) Said tract of land being a portion of lot of land No. 428 in the original 7th, now 2nd, District of said county, and containing twenty-one and 5/7(21 5/7) acres, more or less. Also a tract of land beginning at the northwest corner of lot of land number four hundred and twenty-eight and running south five hundred and sixteen yards, thence east one hundred and seventy seven and 11/14 yards, thence north five hundred and sixteen yards, thence west one hundred sevent-seven and 11/14 yards to starting point, and containing 18 6/7 acres more or less. Also a tract of land beginning at the Northeast corner of the tract of land belonging (Unfortunately the operator of the copier, me, cut off the remainder of this page.
