THIS INDENTURE, made and entered into the 6th day of January, in the year of our Lord, One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventeen, between J.S. Hill, of the county of Worth, and State of Georgia, of the one part, and Arthur Hill (s/o Elbert Hill and Nancy Catherine Murray), of the County of Schley, and State of Georgia, of the other part, WITNESSETH: That the party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of sixteen hundred and fifty dollars, in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, sold and conveyed unto the said Arthur Hil, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Worth, as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of lands of Tempia J. Bass, and running south five hundred and sixteen yards, thence east two hundred seven and 2/3 yards, thence north five hundred five hundred and sixteen yards, thence west two hundred seven and 2/3 yards to the starting point. Said tract of land being a portion of lot of land number 428 in the original 7th, now 2nd, district of said county, and containing 21 5/7 acres, more or less.(NOTE: I lost the last portion of this deed to the same flaw in machine operation) (NOTE: Josiah Hill was actually uncle to Arthur, as he was half brother to Arthur's father, Elbert Hill. Josiah was eight years younger than Arthur. In these transactions Josiah buys a parcel of land in three tracts and 2 days later sells roughly half the acreage to Arthur for about 3/4 of the purchase price of the entire parcel.)
