Born March 3, 1937, in Nashville to the late Henry Freeman and Susie Sapp Bostic, he had lived in Worth County since 1984. He was a retired 20-year veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. Following his retirement, he worked at the Marine Corps Logistic Base for 16 years before retiring as a supervisor. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and was an avid music recorder. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katy McInvale Bostic on February 11, 2012; and his son, Jimmy D. “Jimbo” Bostic, Jr. on November 11, 2009. Survivors include his son, Jeff Douglas Bostic of Painesville, OH; daughters, Jacquelyn Bostic of Albany and Doreen Bostic of Sylvester; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rose Carroll of Macon and Mary Topping of Iowa. Funeral services were held March 15 at 11 a.m. at Banks Funeral home Chapel. Interment with full military honors was held at Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City with the Rev. Grady Morey officiating.
