Mrs. R. J. Herring, Sylvester. Tifton, November 30- Mrs. Rebeccca Levica Herring, wife of William Jasper Herring, died at her home, two miles northwest of Sylvester, November 25, at 8:30 p.m., of acute indigestion. She was laid to rest in the family cemetery at noon, November 27. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. E. Reiser, of Sylvester. The pallbearers were her six oldest grandsons, three from each branch of the two branches of the family. Rebecca Levicia Paul, daughter of William and Melvina Paul, was born in Bibb county, November 1, 1836. On November 25, 1856, at Albany, Ga., she wed W. J. Herring, which union was only sundred after fifty-six years by death. To them two sons were born, William Jasper, Jr., who was accidentally shot in November, 1905, and John Lewis, of Tifton. In middle life she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, of which she was a consistent member. Besides her husband and son and grandshildren and great-grandchildren to the number of thirty-two, she leaves two brothers, James E. Paul, of Omega, and A. J. Paul, of Isabella; also two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brady, of Tyty, and Mrs. Ruth Sumner of Isabella.
