Obituary -  9 Dec 1995  Walter L. Pye,  Business 
Owner                                       Walter L. Pye, 93, of Albany, died 
Friday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. following an illness.
  The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at Crown Hill Mausoleum Chapel.  
The Revs. Bobby Moye and Daniel Sikes will officiate.
  A native of Worth County, Mr. Pye had lived in Albany since 1940. He was the 
former owner and operator of Pye's Grocery at Five Points. He was a 50-year 
member of Dougherty Lodge No. 591 F&AM, a charter member and 50-year member of 
the Hasan Shrine and a member of the York Rite.  He was a member of Sunnyside 
Baptist Church and had attended Liberty Parkway Church of God.
  Survivors include his wife, Gladys S. Pye of Albany; a son, Donald L. Pye Sr. 
of Albany; a sister, Mary Lee Butler of Albany; five grandchildren and seven 
great grandchildren.
  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  The family is at the 
residence of Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Pye, Sr., 2205 Lullwater Road, Kimbrell-
Stern Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
