The photo was taken at the Old Brooks Family Cemetery located off Whiddon Mill
Road. This is the headstone after I stood it back up and cleaned it up a little.
It reads "Martha Elizabeth Brooks Born June 27, 1882 Died June 26 1909 Darling
Elizabeth She has left us for ever more. But We Hope To Meet Our Loved One On
That Bright And Happy Shore". There are 4 graves located here. Her parents and a
sister who also died at an early age are buried here with "Betty" (nickname).

This cemetery is listed in the book "Worth County Cemeteries" and it was
surveyed in 1982 and still intact.

Additional Comments:
I am in the process of trying to get the county to help restore the cemetery. It
hasn't been taken care of in a long time. It was intact in 1982. In 2010, I'm
digging the headstones out from under the trees that were cut down so the pivot
could get over it. Also, all the headstones were toppled over and partially
buried in the ground.
