 A Big Island man was injured fatally at 7:45 p.m. Saturday when a car he was 
in went off Kawaihae Road eight miles west of Waimea.
 Police said Christopher Toy, 25, of Waikoloa, South Kohala, suffered chest 
and internal injuries when thrown from the car and died three hours later at 
Honokaa Hospital. It was the Island's 21st traffic death this year, five more 
than the toll by June 27 last year.
 The driver, a Puako Beach man, 22, was reported in satisfactory condition at 
Honokaa Hospital yesterday with multiple head injuries. He was arrested for 
investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.
