Born Oct. 25, 1899, Sortavala, Finland, son of George Ollikainen and Anna (Laukkanen) Ollikainen; married Luella Holton, Nov. 1, 1920, Honolulu; member Chamber of Commerce, Oahu Country Club, Y. M. C. A., Commercial Club. Finishing his high school education in Finland, Mr. Albert entered the Diplomatic School at Berlin, Germany, graduating in 1912. He then entered the Designing and Cutting School at Berlin, attending for one year and receiving his degree in 1913. He returned to Finland, and traveled through most of the European countries, doing newspaper work in many of them. In 1921 he was graduated from the American Fashion Co. Designing and Cutting School. Entering the business first in Paris in 1913, he had charge of the largest ladies’ gown designing shop there, and in 1914 he went to Russia on a fur-buying trip. When the war started he returned to Finland, in 1916 he went to Norway, and that same year came to the United States to work for Williams & Berg, San Francisco. He first came to Hawaii in 1917. on his way to Australia. Since Nov. 1, 1918, he has operated a tailoring business in Honolulu, now incorporated as George Albert, Ltd.
