The announcement came in a re-designation of all air force installations as air force bases. The 10 fields include: Dillingham air force base, Oahu island Hawaii, named in honor of Capt Henry G. (Gay) Dillingham, killed on a bombing mission over Kawasaki, Japan, July 25, 1945. He was born in New Port, Minn.
