Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com March 6, 2012, 5:17 pm Honolulu Star-Bulletin March 28, 1938 Carrying 12 passengers, the Philippine Clipper took off from Pearl Harbor for Midway at 7:37 a.m. today and the Hawaii Clipper departed from Guam for Wake en route to Honolulu and Alameda with four passengers. Passengers westbound on the Philippine Clipper today were Alameda to Wake, Davis Snook; Alameda to Manila, Wayne Coy and Enrico Pirovano; Alameda to Hong kong, Olin Wanamaker and Harold Hoskins; Honolulu to Midway, Kathryn Forbes, Francis Walton, Curtis Nagel, Palmer Miller and Fred Bianchi; Honolulu to Manila, Ethel Dorrance and Clarence Carlson. Passengers eastbound on the Hawaii Clipper were Chester Dimmock of Los Angeles, John Fulton of Yale university, Sir Victor Sassoon and Reginald Thomas of Shanghai, all en route to San Francisco. The China Clipper, originally scheduled to take off from Alameda for Honolulu Wednesday, is now scheduled to depart Thursday and arrive here Friday, April 1.
