Born Sept. 3, 1877 in Madeira, Portugal, he made his home at 3264 Winam Ave. Mr. Carvalho was a retired carpenter. Friends may call at Ordenstein's Mortuary from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and again from 7 to 8:30 a.m., Monday. A requiem high mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Sunday. Burial will follow at Diamond Head Cemetery. There will be a rosary at the mortuary at 8 p.m. on Sunday. He is survived by five sons, John of California, William, Alfred, James and Harry Carvalho; four daughters, Mrs. Manuel (Emily) Gomes, Mrs. Manuel (Alice) Viera, Mrs. John (Lucy) Durate, and Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Neves; a brother, John Carvalho of California; a sister, Mrs. Eva Holmberg; and 23 grandchildren.
