The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, April 12, 1956
Services for Kong Yee Char, 73, of 2437 Puunui Street will be held between 8 
a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday at Borthwick Funeral Parlors. Char died April 2 in a 
local hospital. He was born September 19, 1882, in Kwangtung, China. Burial at 
Ket On Cemetery will follow the services. Mr. Char was a retired maintenance 
man at the Bank of Hawaii. Honorary pallbearers will be M. Q. Ho, Dr. Abe Ng 
Kamset, Dr. W. S. Char, Tse T. Choy, Sai Mau Chee and Tin Chong Goo. Active 
pallbearers will be Yet Kui Ho, Andrew Ho, Charles Hoo, Joe Ming Jay, William 
Char and Benjamin Char.
