Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com February 16, 2012, 5:03 pm Unknown newspaper, April, 1948 HANS FASSOTH DIES; WAS 55 Hans Fassoth, 55, of Waimanalo, Oahu, superintendent of employe relations for the Territorial employment service, died in the Queen’s Hospital at 8:35 p.m. Sunday.* Death was due to heart disease. The body will be cremated and graveside services will be held in the Nuuanu cemetery this afternoon at 4 with the Rev. Allen Hackett, minister of Central Union Church, officiating. Williams mortuary is in charge of arrangments. He is survived by the widow Mrs. Edna Fassoth, his mother, Mrs. Anna M. Fassoth of Honolulu; a sister, Mrs. C. Bachelor of Berkeley, Cal., and by three brothers, John of Honolulu, and William and Martin of the Philippine Islands. Mr. Fassoth was born in Waimea, Kauai, on April 21, 1893, the son of John and Anna M. (Decker) Fassoth. He was educated at Punahou School in Honolulu, and began work as an overseer for the Hawaiian Sugar Co. at Makaweli, Kauai. In 1914 he was appointed head overseer and assistant manager of the Kipahulu Sugar Co. on Maui, and was with that company for many years before coming to Honolulu to make his home. During World War II Mr. Fassoth worked for the army port and service command here, and later was with the war manpower commission as liaison officer for industry.
