All interested friends will be welcome. Miss Forbes had been ill for several years. A member of a pioneer missionary family, she was a sister of the late William J. Forbes and Miss Harriet G. Forbes of 1548 Wilder Ave. In addition to Miss Harriet Forbes she is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Dr. Theodore W. Forbes, now on leave from the University of Hawaii; Frederick B. Forbes, Mrs. Harvey Vollrath and Mrs. William R. Norwood, all of Honolulu, and Mrs. Roy D. Lopp of Fort Ord, Cal. Miss Forbes was the eldest daughter of the Rev. Anderson O. Forbes and Mrs. Maria Chamberlain Forbes. She was born Jan. 18, 1865, in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Chamberlain in the house now known as the Chamberlain house on the mission premises on King St. and Kawaiahao lane. Her childhood was spent in Hilo where her father was minister of the First Foreign church. Except for a few years teaching on the island of Hawaii and on Kauai, she spent the rest of her life in Honolulu. Until poor health forced her retirement in later years she was active in Central Union church and taught Sunday school there.
