Shugen Inouye Memorial services over the cremated remains of the Reverend Shugen Inouye, 29, of the Higashi Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the mission, 1128 Banyan Street. Mr. Inouye, who was widely known as a ceramics instructor and pottery maker, died of stomach cancer February 20 at Kuakini Hospital. He was born January 1, 1935, in Kyoto, Japan. He was serving as priest of the mission at the time of his death. Mr. Inouye's pottery was exhibited at seven shows here, in California and in New York during the last three years. It was to be shown May 10 in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Inouye, a graduate of Farrington High School, obtained his master's degree from the University of Hawaii last year. Last year between September and November he was honored with a oneman exhibition at New York's Museum of Contemporary Crafts. Survivors include: his parents, the Reverend and Mrs. Zuiem Inouye; two brothers, Zuiken of Tokyo and Hiroshi; a sister, Mrs. Kinsuke Nishimura of Kyoto. Nuuanu Memorial Park Mortuary is in charge.
