LAMBERT, WAIMANO HEAD, DIES; WAS 50 Charles Bernard Lambert, 50, member of a prominent kamaaina family, and superintendent of the Waimano Home, died at his residence at the home at 2:55 o’clock Wednesday* morning after an illness of one week. The body will be in the Waimano Home auditorium from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. today, when services will be held. Masonic services over the ashes will be held at the family plot in the Makiki cemetery at 4:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. Williams mortuary is in charge of arrangements Flowers may be sent to the cemetery. Mr. Lambert is survived by the widow, Mrs. Dorothy Ruttman Lambert; a son, Charles David; two daughters, Beverly and Pauline; his mother, Mrs. Rosina Lambert; a sister, Mrs. Rosina Wai; two brothers, Andrew in Honolulu and Fred in the Philippines; and by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lambert was born in Honolulu on Jan. 19, 1898, and was graduated from St. Louis College and from the University of Hawaii with a B.S. degree in sugar technology. After completing his education he was associated with the Pineapple Producers Cooperative Association, with Libby, McNeill & Libby at Wahiawa, Kauai Pineapple Co. as field manager, Kohala, Hawaii, Pineapple Co. as manager, and Hawaiian Pineapple Co., Lanai, as field manager. In 1935 Mr. Lambert became associated with the city and county building department, and in August, 1941, was appointed business manager and assistant superintendent of the Waimano Home. In February, 1942, he was appointed superintendent of the home. Mr. Lambert was a Mason, member of Aloha Temple of the Shrine, member of the Shrine Patrol, member of the Waialae Golf Club, member of the Beachcombers’ Kamaaina Hui, and one of the older members of the Outrigger Canoe Club. While at the University of Hawaii, Mr. Lambert starred in football and swimming, and was a member of the University “Wonder” football team on which he played halfback in 1922 and 1923.
